Khloe Kardashian speaks up about estranged husband Lamar Odom

Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian has spoken up for the first time about Lamar Odom’s condition. In a statement issued through her personal website, Khloe broke her silence on Oct 20, Tuesday, exactly a week after Odom was hospitalised after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel.

"The past week has been incredibly difficult, I am so thankful to family, friends, and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar,” wrote Khloe. In her statement, she also thanked the medical team at the Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas

Lamar was treated at Sunrise until Monday afternoon, when he was discharged and airlifted to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was in a coma for four days before reportedly waking up on Friday last week.

Khloe adds that under medical treatment, “incredible strides have been made” towards Lamar’s recovery. He was believed to have overdosed in a mixture of drugs including cocaine and a sexual enhancement drug known as a “herbal Viagra,” before he was found unconscious at the Love Ranch on Tuesday last week.

TMZ reports that Khloe flew back to Los Angeles with Lamar, where he will be receiving further care. Despite having woken up from his coma, he is not out of danger yet. Although he is now conscious and has been taken out of life support, some permanent damage may have been done to his body.

“You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure,” ended Khloe.
