Keira Knightley is pregnant. She is expecting her first child with husband James Righton.

Knightley, who got married to Righton in 2013, passed the first trimester of her pregnancy. The 29-year-old British actor's pregnancy with the Klaxons keyboardist and co-vocalist was exclusively confirmed by Page Six. Knightley earlier stayed away from alcohol at the Moët British Independent Spirit Awards on Sunday, even though the event was sponsored by a liquor company. While Knightley is known for wearing fitted clothes, she wore a billowy Rocha dress. She apparently wore the embroidered ivory fur-trimmed dress to hide her baby bump.

Knightley, earlier nominated at the Screen Actors Guild Awards for her performance in The Imitation Game, has reportedly been working with her stylist on designing clothes to hide the obvious bump. The rumours started growing in November that the couple might be in for a happy surprise with the first child on its way. Knightley previously expressed her willingness to bear children. However, she said that she would not like to give up her acting career after becoming a mother. She earlier said that she would not like to be a stay-at-home mother even though, if someone decided to be that, she said that they should not be "sneered at." According to Knightley, even men should be allowed to be stay-at-home fathers. She talked to Vogue in 2012 about being tagged as a feminist for supporting women to continue their career even after becoming mothers. She said that she would not deny her femininity by discussing feminism only by making fun of it.

Knightley's Screen Actors Guild nomination was announced on Wednesday. It is much talked about because the nomination is supposed to pave way for an Oscar nomination. The other nominees for the SAG Award for an outstanding performance by a female actor in a supporting role include Patricia Arquette (Boyhood), Emma Stone (Birdman), Naomi Watts (St. Vincent) and Meryl Streep (Into the Woods). E! Online reported that Knightley had also been nominated for the Golden Globe Award on Thursday.

Knightley will be seen next in a thriller adventure in 2015. Everest, directed by Baltasar Kormákur, is about the 1996 Mount Everest disaster.
