Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes have portrayed on- and off-screen lovers when they both starred in the hit 90's teen TV show "Dawson's Creek."

The 34-year old actor, who is currently in a long-term relationship with German actress Diane Kruger, has reportedly revealed that he was thrilled to be reconnected with Katie Holmes after the actress called him after her publicized divorce from Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise.

According to reports, Joshua Jackson claimed that they both had a lot of catching up during the said phone call. "Like any old friend, it was like, 'Oh, hi how are ya? What's going on?' 'I had a kid'; 'Yeah, that's crazy, I heard!' It was nice, it was very nice, actually," Jackson shared. The "Dawson's Creek" stars dated during the first season of the popular teen series back in 1998 and they both recently got back in touch with each other.

Meanwhile, the Canadian-born Joshua Jackson also recently revealed that although it is unlikely to happen, he might still consider the idea of reuniting with Katie Holmes on-screen for a "Dawson's Creek" reunion. "Well, we killed the show so I don't think that's ever going to happen. Never say never. If I'm out of work for enough years, absolutely. We'll be old and grey and nasty by the time that happens," Jackson said.

No official word yet has been released on when a "Dawson's Creek" reunion will be. Before she filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, Holmes was eager to reunite with her co-stars Joshua Jackson, James Van Der Beek and Michelle Williams for a potential film but her then-husband reportedly nixed the idea.

"Producers were begging her to sign on for a reunion movie," a source told Us Weekly. "Tom said absolutely no way and thought going backward would be bad," the source added. On the contrary, Katie Holmes wanted to do the movie, reconnect with her fans and just have fun.

The 33-year old Katie Holmes is now slowly rebuilding her life as a single mom, actress and fashion designer after her failed marriage and the actress even reached out to her old friend Joshua Jackson to reconnect. "It was something so incredible and indescribable that I will treasure it always," Holmes shared. Even though "Dawson's Creek" ended, Jackson and Holmes still remain good friends and both have moved on with their lives.
