Australian actress Nicole Kidman recently arrived on the Paris film set as she takes on one of the most anticipated role in her acting career: Princess Grace of Monaco. Kidman has been reportedly learning French in preparation for her latest role and the 45-year old actress will have to play down as Grace Kelly who will be captured in the film at the age of 32.

According to reports, Nicole Kidman will be wearing recreations of several stunning couture gowns in the film that were originally created for Princess Grace. Even though she died 30 years ago, Princess Grace still remains a fashion icon just like Nicole Kidman.

The film is set in 1962 when Monaco and France were in dispute and it focuses on the role that Princess Grace played to avoid a coup. Film director Olivier Dahan has begun filming "Grace in Monaco" which also stars Tim Roth as Prince Rainer III.

Dahan is best known for directing "La Vie en rose" which is the 2007 Edith Piaf biopic that gave actress Marion Cotillard her Best Actress Oscar award.

After her appearance at the 2012 Emmy Awards, Nicole Kidman joined the cast at the Victorine Studio in Nice where Alfred Hitchcock filmed Grace Kelly opposite Cary Grant in the 1955 film "To Catch a Thief."

Nicole Kidman's choices of the characters she portrayed in her previous films have been remarkable, though they were about fictional characters including her award-winning take on Virginia Woolf that metted her an Oscar.

Portraying Grace Kelly might be the closest that Nicole Kidman has come to channeling her own acting experiences as a Hollywood royalty when she will enter the world of a woman known for rather complex relationship with stardom.
