After a decently long silence, Kate Middleton's weight is on the topic of conversation once again. Katie Couric, a television host, has reignited a debate during a public question an answer after unguardedly slamming the Duchess of Cambridge for being too thin. Was Katie Couric out of line with her comment on Kate Middleton's weight?

According to reports, Katie Couric has been the topic of her own buzz after a tumultuous departure from CBS and the launch of her first daytime talk show called "Katie." The television host was asked who her dream guest would be following a test taping of her new TV show. Her controversial response quickly went from praise to criticism.

"I think it would be really interesting to interview Kate Middleton because I think she has comported herself so well since she has been thrust in the limelight. I think she needs to eat more because she's so thin," Couric said. Members of the Royal Family are probably not going to be happy upon hearing what Couric said. Also, it is definitely not the best way for Katie Couric to secure a future interview with the media elusive Kate Middleton.

Meanwhile, Couric's comment is just the latest addition to the conversation concerning Kate Middleton's weight. It has been previously reported that she lost10 pounds on the Dukan diet before her Royal wedding to Prince William in April 2011. Since then, the published pictures of Kate Middleton indicate that she continued to shed pounds at an alarming rate.

Apparently, people are not yet really tired of the weight topic especially with a Royal baby bump watch in action. There has also been consistent speculation that Kate Middleton's slender frame may be at least part of the reasons why she have not yet become pregnant despite her and Prince William's openly expressed desire to start a family.

The Royal Family have always kept mum when it comes to the Duchess of Cambridge's figure where several gossip columns have claimed from insiders at the palace stating that Kate Middleton is just fine where they consistently reiterate that there is no problem with Kate Middleton's dietary habits.

It is not clear yet why Katie Couric made the extraordinary comment which is bound to dismay the senior Royals and their closest advisors. The topic about Kate Middleton's weight is at the palace and any mention of eating disorders in the Royal Family immediately triggers deeply uncomfortable memories as they have dealt with Princess Diana's bulimia before.

It also does not make any exception that Kate Middleton is not bulimic. Of course, cameras add pounds and with the recent pictures of the Duchess of Cambridge, her arms still seem very thin but there does seem to be a little more flesh on the bone than there was back in March.

Katie Couric's remarks will be seen as deeply unhelpful at the palace. Hopefully, Kate Middleton and the Royal Family will not take these latest comments about the Duchess' weight to heart.
