Kate Middleton is enjoying motherhood and she is happier than ever in her marriage to Prince William. However, author and royal editor for The Mail On Sunday, Katie Nicholl, made a revelation that before meeting the love of her life (Prince William), she was left heartbroken by her first love-- as told in her new biography of Kate: 'Kate the Future Queen'.

Nicholl, author of Kate: The Future Queen, Spoke to Katie Couric on her talk show "Katie "on US TV, and revealed some never-before-heard facts, including Kate's first love.

Nicholl mentioned in her book, which was recently excerpted in Vanity Fair, about Kate's "first love," Harry Blakelock.

At age 16 Kate Middleton reportedly dated Harry Blakelock while she attended Wiltshire boarding school Marlborough College, before meeting The Duke of Cambridge, 31, in 2001.

Nicholl revealed "He was the hottest boy at Marlborough school, he was in the year above Kate, a great cricketer, a very talented sportsman, and when Kate came back for her first year of sixth form, she'd emerged into this beauty. She caught the eye of the best-looking boy at school and they actually had a romance for nearly a year and he was her first love, and he broke her heart."

Blakelock allegedly ended the relationship to pursue his dreams of travelling and Middleton, 31, was so confounded that she refused to date anyone else for three years. Blakelock in due course married Kate's best friend, according to Nicholl, and was among attendees at the royal wedding. All is well that ends well.

According to Nicholl that Prince George's parents did not meet at University of St. Andrews, as the legend would have it.

"I was speaking to some of her friends at Marlborough [College], which is where she went before St. Andrews,"

"And they said, 'Uh-uh, she didn't meet him at St. Andrews. She met him before she got there, while she was at school during her sixth form, through some of her friends. They knew Prince William and Prince Harry, so there wasn't any meeting [at school].' And that, for me, it changed everything".

Speaking in an interview after their engagement in November 2010 the couple revealed how they claim to have first met but It is not exactly the same story Prince William and Kate have told.

Prince William said: "We obviously met at university - at St Andrews we were friends for over a year first and it just sort of blossomed from then on."

While Kate Middleton said: "Well I actually think I went bright red when I met you and sort of scuttled off, feeling very shy about meeting you." "Actually William wasn't there for quite a bit of the time initially, he wasn't there for Fresher's Week, so it did take a bit of time for us to get to know each other but we did become very close friends from quite early."

Middleton, who married William in a globally televised royal wedding in April 2011, has undoubtedly moved on from that challenging time in her life. Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their first child, Prince George Alexander Louis, on July 22, and they are living happily thereafter.
