When Kate Middleton wears a brand, it quickly sells out. The resulting fashion and style phenomenon is called “The Kate Effect."

What is style? Put simply, it is the way something--anything--is done. There are innumerable ways of how something can be expressed, designed, or presented. Whenever the term “style” is used, it most commonly refers to one’s fashion or outer appearance.

Style is inevitable; it is not possible to do something without doing it in a particular way. Every style expresses or amplifies an outlook on life, even if this outlook can't quite be put into words. To understand a style, you have to understand something of the mood, philosophy, or aesthetic tendency behind it.

Kate Middleton has been on quite the style journey for over the last years. From the stereotyped looks to the style icon, The Duchess has become since she dazzled the world in Alexander McQueen on her Royal Wedding day. When it comes to designer gear, Kate seems to favour British talents including Alice Temperley, Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham, while Kate's high street purchases. Reiss, Zara and Whistles have all reported record sales since being donned by the Duchess.

Let us know more about her favourite fashion brands and designers:

"Unfortunately we’ve now sold out of the Moriah Dress but we have plenty of other Temperley London pieces in, so be sure to get them now before they disappear.”

"You may not get the press attention that Kate does, but you’ll definitely turn heads."

Alexander McQueen

She also amazed masses in a white and gold McQueen gown during a visit to Kuala Lumpur last fall. She has developed a taste for stately, dramatic, and extraordinary fashion design.
