Aside from the blue Beulah London ensemble Kate Middleton wore to the National Service of Commemoration Kate also completed her wardrobe with a new jewellery. The Duchess of Cambridge adorned her ears and neck with new diamond accessories that supposedly goes well with the sapphire engagement ring Prince William gave her.

Glamour Magazine’s fashion column noted Kate Middleton’s new jewellery during her public appearance at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London on Friday, March 13. The Duchess of Cambridge joined her husband Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, and fellow members of the royal family including Queen Elizabeth, Prince Harry and Prince Charles among others, in commemorating the death of the U.K. soldiers who died in Afghanistan. Fashion writer Leah Melby complimented the pregnant Kate Middleton on her polished look and especially admired the pear-shaped earrings and necklace she wore to match her blue “Chiara” coat from Beulah London.

Melby claimed the new pair of earrings look far better suited with Kate’s sapphire engagement ring compared to the much-reported pair Prince William gave to Kate Middleton from one of Princess Diana’s favorite sapphire earrings. A close up look at Kates’s new earrings and a photo of the pendant posted by What Kate Wore show the pear-shaped gems are actually encrusted with diamonds.

Kate Middleton’s new jewellery was reportedly purchased from G. Colllins & Sons, a jeweler where Sophie the Countess of Wessex, is said to be a fan. A source with knowledge of the accessories revealed that the pear-shaped gems are actually made from 6.3 carat tanzanite surrounded with .87 carat diamonds set in platinum. However, the only difference from the jeweller’s earrings as seen on its Web site is the v-shaped diamond design on the earrings’ upper portion, which seems to be missing from the pair the Duchess of Cambridge wore.

The new jewellery is said to represent Kate Middleton and Prince William’s favorite continent of Africa. It’s believed the tanzanite can only be found in the Mererani Hills in the eastern part of Africa in Tanzania. G. Collins reportedly listed the Duchess of Cambridge’s new jewellery under the hefty amount of £8400, which is around $12, 300.
