Kate Middleton, Prince William's Marriage: Duchess 'Wears The Pants In The Relationship'

The Duchess of Cambridge may reportedly exude that demure and lady-like mannerism, but according to a report, Kate Middleton actually has a strong personality. It’s believed she even holds the reins in her marriage with the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William.

E Online writer Melanie Bromley said that underneath the delicate exterior Kate Middleton shows to the public is actually a “core of steel.” Being married to one of the royal members of the British kingdom, not to mention the future King of England, reportedly requires a woman with a strong personality, one who is capable of standing up to him. According to Bromley’s sources, the Duchess of Cambridge is that woman who is no doubt “the one who wears the pants in the relationship.”

Royal expert Tom Sykes told E Online that Prince William may be “quite single-minded about what he wants.” But he reportedly also respects his wife’s opinions. “At the same time the reason he married Kate was because he was prepared to listen to her and he takes her values seriously," he said.

Sources claimed the Duke of Cambridge may be rather hot-tempered at times and can be extremely determined in his decisions. However, Kate Middleton is supposedly the one whose values and advices he listens to. "He thinks her values are good and he thinks her vision of how the royal family can continue in the 21st century makes a lot of sense,” Sykes further said.

Kate Middleton exhibiting that strong personality reportedly doesn’t only exist within her relationship with Prince William. The “Middleton Effect, “as what E Online called it, has extended far into the royal family. It’s believed the Middleton family has had a huge impact on the future of the royal family, especially with showing the Duke of Cambridge how to live a normal life with a normal family.

Kate Middleton reportedly once lived a very private life prior to her relationship with Prince William. Only close friends know what she is really like inside and out. Jules Knight, one of the Duchess of Cambridge’s friends from St. Andrew’s University, once described her as someone who is a hard worker, "very down to earth and very diligent.” According to CNN, Kate's friend Richard Dennen also described her as someone who is the “perfect consort for Prince William” because of her level-headedness and strong personality.
