A Pleasant twist in the royal baby tale: portraits are expected to be revealed in a tweet from Kensington Palace by next week.

Prince George may be the future King of England, but Prince William and Kate Middleton are bringing up a modern baby. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are planning to use their own photographs with newborn Prince George as official portraits. Kate will break the custom of using a celebrity photographer and choose from snaps clicked by herself, sister Pippa and parents Carole and Michael Middleton.

The portraits will be the first photos to be released to the public since Kate Middleton And Prince William and Prince George left hospital. A royal assistant confirmed: "One of the options they are looking at is releasing a couple of family photos they have taken themselves."

Kate Middleton and Prince William do not want to disturb three-week-old Prince George's daily schedule with a formal photo-shoot, so Kate is scrutinizing through photos taken at the Middletons' Berkshire house.

After welcoming their son on July 22 the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, went to Middleton's parents' home in Bucklebury, England, to live a peaceful parenthood.

The first royal order of business was simple: sleep. What followed at the Middleton house became a blissful routine: Wake up, tend to George, eat and repeat. Dinners might mean a simple Italian meal cooked with help of housekeeper Antonella Fresolone. And even with two future kings of England at the table, "there's no special treatment," a family source tells Us Weekly. "William still has to help load the dishwasher after dinner. The same will apply to George when he's a grown boy.

The couple has a busy schedule with Kate planning to join William at their Anglesey cottage next week. William will be seen at his first official engagement since becoming a dad at the Anglesey Show on Wednesday.

He has been away from his family since his two-week RAF paternity leave ended as Kate opted to stay with her parents. He spent the weekend on a stag do in Devon with friends including Guy Pelly.

Once William and Kate are back together with George in North Wales, they will finalise details of their trip to Balmoral, where Prince Philip will meet his great-grandson for the first time.

Philip travelled to Scotland yesterday before an engagement with the Royal Society of Edinburgh tonight. It will be his first outing since having abdominal surgery in June.

The duke, who has been recuperating at Sandringham in Norfolk, then plans to join the Queen for their annual summer break.

Baby George's baptism is expected to take place in October. His aunt Pippa Middleton is a favourite to be named as a godmother. Kate Middleton and Prince William are making good on their plans to give Prince George Alexander Louis a happy, pressure-free childhood.

Certainly Kate Middleton has a great aesthetic sense and wants the first official ones of George to be natural and in a relaxed environment.

Great things are not accomplished by those who yield to trends and fads and popular opinion. Indeed the royal family is setting new trends one by one. We think this idea will rock, what do you think? You can tell us by commenting below.
