According to fashion experts, Kate Middleton's reign as the queen of fashion won't be too long until it fades, but some are still saying the Duchess' style influence is eternal.

The Duchess of Cambridge has made London the new fashion capital of the world, and has been recently crowned as the number 1 High Street fashion icons. Although Kate Middleton seems to be in sync with her style, some fashion experts are saying her influence might not go too far. The fashion director of famous mall chain Nordstrom , Gregg Andrews, thinks the Duchess style is something that's not worth of a "fashionista" label.

"She's stylish, but she's not setting trends, she's following trends," said Andrews in a report posted by Fox News.

"If you take Kate out of the Royal Family, put her on a street in New York, you wouldn't look at her twice. She's a beautiful woman, but she blends into a crowd" added Andrews in the same post. Ken Downing of high-end brand chain Neiman Marcus agrees with Andrews sentiments, saying Middleton has little to offer when it comes to her style.

"Is she iconic at the moment? Time will tell. She's certainly influential. In the position that she's in you can't be simply stunning as she is and not have influence," says Downing in the same report. Even designer Vivenne Westwood has negative comments about Middleton's style, saying it's "ordinary" and "lackluster."

"It seems to me that her image is an ordinary woman. (She is a) High Street Shopper. I just think she should be an extraordinary woman, wherever she gets her clothes from." says Westwood in the same post.

Although there are negative comments about Middleton's "ladylike" style, there are still designers praising the Duchess for her choice of ensembles. Designer Diane Von Furstenburg, who has dressed the likes of Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman, and Kate Winslet, says the Duchess style is noteworthy.

"I think she is irresistible, she is so beautiful," says Von Furstenburg in the same Fox News post. Anna Della Russo of Vogue Japan agrees with Von Furstenburg, saying that the Duchess style is not only modern, but also practical and sends a good message.

"I love it. She's modern, really modern. She's smart to mix cheap clothes with, like, Alexander McQueen. That's a great message to the younger generation because it's a democratic approach," says Della Russo in the same post.
