Bryce Dallas Howard will be reprising her role as Claire in “Jurassic World 2.” The character was the operations manager of the park in the first movie. The actress has now confirmed that she won’t have to wear any heels in the next film.

Howard will begin work on the sequel next year, the actress said in an interview with Collider. The actress was asked about her footwear in the next movie, after her character had to do a lot of running around in her heels in the 2015 film. She said that Executive Producer and writer Colin Trevorrow texted her about the filming next year with hashtag “NoHeels2018.” She replied with a simple “Yay!”

The actress is currently promoting her new movie “Pete’s Dragon” directed by David Lowery. Howard plays the role of a character named Grace in this film. The plot of the movie revolves around a boy who survived in dense forest for six years, thanks to his dragon friend that goes by the name of Elliot.

Meanwhile, “Jurassic World 2” is currently in the pre-production phase. After Trevorrow dropped out to helm “Star Wars: Episode IX” J. A. Bayona has stepped into the role of director. In a previous interview with Collider, producer Frank Marshall said that Trevorrow and Derek Connolly are writing the script and they have held multiple meetings with the new director.

The producer also confirmed that the cast and crew will be back in Hawaii to film the relevant scenes. The 2015 film was also filmed in Hawaii.

The only other confirmed cast member for “Jurassic World 2” is Chris Pratt, who will back as the dinosaur trainer Owen. More casting news and production updates are expected to be announced in the coming months. The movie is slated to be released on June 22, 2018 in the US.
