Johnny Depp graces the July cover of Rolling Stone Magazine dressed as his character in the latest Walt Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer flick, "The Lone Ranger". Depp, who just turned 50 last June 9, candidly talked about giving up acting, his blind left eye and his split from former partner, Vanessa Paradis.

The Academy-award nominated actor has been known for wearing his iconic tinted shades, but his glasses are with prescription. He revealed he's been "basically blind as a bat" since birth. He can no longer see in his left eye and is nearsighted (and lately, farsighted) with his right. "Everything is just very, very blurry," he said.

For the first time, he spoke about his split from long-time partner Vanessa Paradis. The couple surprised the public when the couple ended their 14-year relationship last year. The actor confessed, "The last couple years have been a bit bumpy."

Depp has two children with the 40-year old French beauty - Lily Rose, 14 and Jack, 11. "So for whatever reason that ceases, it doesn't stop the fact that you care for that person, and they're the mother of your kids, and you'll always know each other, and you're always gonna be in each other's lives because of those kids. You might as well make the best of it," he said.

He also admitted about having thoughts of retirement popping up "everyday" but holds back whenever he realizes what he cans still do. "I think while I've got the opportunity and the desire and the creative spark to do the things that I can do right now, I should do them."

"The Lone Ranger" actor has been reported to escape falling off a horse during the filming of the movie last year. Depp plays the American spirit Tonto who partners with Armie Hammer's John Reid to fight against greed and corruption.

"The Lone Ranger" opens in Australia on July 4.
