Hollywood actor Johnny Depp recently turned 50 years old and he found a unique way to celebrate. The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star suddenly put on his Captain Jack Sparrow costume and made unannounced visits to the sick children at different hospitals.

Film producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, revealed that Johnny Depp always brings the pirate costume whenever he travels. "He knows he is a very fortunate person and he wants to give back," Bruckheimer stated about the actor's charity work during the "Produced By" conference.

Johnny Depp has been making appearances as Captain Jack Sparrow to young children. In 2010, it can be recalled that a 9-year-old girl named Beatrice Delap sent an invitation to ask the actor if he could visit her London school after finding out the filming location of "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is close to the Old Royal Naval College.

Moreover, another Johnny Depp appearance at a school happened when the actor accepted the invitation of the teachers at the Meridian Primary School in Greenwich.

"It was the most exciting school day ever. I had the idea to write the letter last week after me and a friend went to see the film set. Pat from the school office delivered it. Yesterday the school called us in for a special assembly at the end of the day. They told us there had been a couple of incidents in the playground," an unnamed teacher shared about the surprise visit.

The multitalented actor has been portraying the famously naughty but lovable and funny pirate character since 2003. In addition to the four successful "Pirates of the Caribbean" films, Disney is scheduled to release the fifth film installment in 2015 with Depp reprising his role.
