J.K. Rowling shared some details about the popular character Draco Malfoy from the "Harry Potter" series. The author shared how the character's personality was shaped by his parents and his rivalry with the protagonist of the book series. [Warning: Spoilers Alert!]

J.K. Rowling said that she pitied Draco Malfoy. Her thoughts about the character are part of a series of posts on her PotterMore website. The author described Draco Malfoy as someone with dubious moral characters. She, however, said that she was "unnerved" by the fact that a number of girls had fallen for the character.

The author praised Tom Felton for his portrayal of the character in the movies. She said that she does not discount the appeal of the actor that may have prompted some of the girls to fall for the fictional character Draco Malfoy. She also said that the actor was one of the nicest persons one could meet.

J.K. Rowling explained that Draco Malfoy was not hiding "a heart of gold" underneath all the contempt and prejudice he displayed toward some of his fellow students. She also shared that she never had plans to have the character end up as best friends with the protagonist Harry Potter.

The author described the heavy influence Lucius Malfoy had on his son. The authors said that living with his wealthy parents affected Draco's personality. However, Rowling also said that the boy's interest in alchemical manuscripts suggested that he may have been interested in becoming a better man.

J.K. Rowling shared some of the events that happened after the defeat of Lord Voldemort from the "Harry Potter" world. Lucius Malfoy reportedly evaded prison by testifying against some of his fellow Death Eaters. Draco reportedly married the younger sister of a fellow Slytherin, Astoria Greengrass.

J.K. Rowling described Draco Malfoy as an "archetypal bully" In the "Harry Potter" books. But the events of the book are said to have had a profound influence on his character. The character reportedly no longer believes in the pure blood ideology of his family. His wife, who has also gone through a difficult period, is said to share her husband's new views.
