They have been seeing each other since late June, but now there are whispers that they have split, according to E! News. The 24-year-old Jennifer Lawrence, the Oscar winner, began seeing 37-year-old Martin after she split with "X-Men" co-star Nicholas Hoult. Chris Martin had announced in March his separation from Gwyneth Paltrow after more than ten years of marriage.

Jennifer, the "Hunger Games" actress supported the recording artist when he performed with Kings of Leon at the Hollywood Bowl earlier this month. She was also on hand to support him when he mounted the stage during the iHeart Radio Music Festival on Sept. 19. After that, the romance seemed to move centre-stage. However, their relationship was not mentioned throughout their four-month romance.

The two of them had gone public about their relationship last September when they stepped out together, according to pagesix.com. They had just joined a few friends at a birthday party, and were "all smiles" and "had grins from ear to ear." Reportedly, he had split with his former wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, but she seemed to "approve" of his relationship. "Things are very amicable, and Gwyneth is happy for Chris," according to Pagesix.

Last Tuesday, though, Chris had met his ex-wife Gwyneth and their two children, at Katsuya in Brentwood for dinner, according to TMZ. But they parted ways after dinner. Gwyneth left with her children in an SUV, while Chris was left behind. Still, after Gwyneth drove her SUV forward, she halted briefly, during which Chris ran to them. Gwyneth touched him briefly on his cheek in a touch that made news. "It tells a real story about the relationship that remains between the two," according to TMZ.

Why Jennifer has split with Chris is still not clear, though sources say that she was the one who initiated the separation. Last November, the Silver Linings star was in a cover story of Vanity Fair, and talked about her "dream man." She said that she only wanted someone to watch TV with her, and who shared her taste for reality TV. She did not want "a big, passionate love" but just a peaceful time. Calling it more important, she just wanted to be her "true self with somebody, and somebody can be their true self with you." She did not want to fight with anybody, she clarified. She finds "argumentative people the most annoying people on the planet." She wondered why people just liked to keep arguing, when it is so "unattractive."

None of her explanations, though, really spell the reasons for the split. It remains in the area of mystery, unless perhaps Chris finally decided to do the one thing that she found so unattractive---argue!
