Jennifer Lawrence is not "curvy," says plus size model Ashley Graham as she blasted Hollywood for its obsession with thin models. Graham, who has appeared in Vogue and Elle magazines, said that it is more important to be healthy and have any size rather than be unhealthy and be a size 2 person. She, however, praised actresses like Marilyn Monroe and Jennifer Lopez for being proud of their curves.

In an essay for Net-a-Porter's online magazine, The Edit, Ashley talks about how Hollywood is obsessed with thin-size women and totally ignores the healthy ones. The model says she feels the need to educate woman on the importance of health and how to love your body. A woman can be healthy "at any size." "It doesn't matter if you're a size 2 or 22 as long as you're taking care of your body, working out, and telling yourself, 'I love you' instead of taking in the negativity of beauty standards," Ashley is quoted as saying to Net-a-Porter (via Time magazine).

The 27-year-old American model says the media is biased towards healthy and curvy women. It is the thin models who get maximum coverage in most magazines and are also appreciated on social media. Ashley complains that today's young girls "don't have much to look at" in the magazines that are filled with thin and skinny celebrities. She also talked about introducing the subject of health education in school as it is the time when most girls get into eating disorders in a bid to look thin.

She also addressed media's obsession with "The Hunger Games" actress Jennifer Lawrence. "Jennifer Lawrence is the media's poster girl for curves -- she's tiny!" said Ashley in her blog. In 2012, J Law told Elle magazine that she was considered "fat and obese" in Hollywood and was told to lose weight. But the actress said that she is "never going to starve herself" because she does not want young girls to follow her example. She wants to look "fit and strong" and not "thin and underfed," said the actress.
