With the Season 2 premiere fast approaching, anticipation is high for the return of the CW hit comedy series “Jane the Virgin.” Actor Justin Baldoni, who plays central character Rafael Sonalo, has just revealed a big spoiler involving new cast members.

[Warning: Spoiler Alert]

On Twitter, Baldoni shared a photo of himself holding his 2-month-old daughter Maiya Grace. Behind him, his wife, Emily sat in a makeup chair. He dropped a clue that the pair will be joining the cast when he said:

It remains unclear what role Emily will be playing, but little Maiya could possibly play the role of Baldoni’s on-screen child. His character, Rafael, is the father of Jane Villanueva’s (Gina Rodriguez) baby.

However, Jane and Rafael’s baby Matteo is a boy. Nevertheless, with both babies still practically newborns, little Maiya Grace could pass off as the baby Matteo.

The baby will be playing a very central role in the first few episodes as his parents learn about his abduction. In the Season 1 finale, Jane was deceived into handing her baby over to a nurse, who led her to believe that her baby needed to go through some tests.

The nurse gave the baby to a waiting Sin Rostro (Bridget Regan), outside the hospital. Jane, Rafael and the rest of their families will likely learn about the abduction as soon as the new season opens. As previously reported, showrunner Jennie Urman said that the baby will be returned very quickly. However, the trauma from the abduction will play a big part in Jane and Rafael’s character development.

Urman also revealed that Jane will be getting married in Season 2. However, it is unclear if she will be ending up with her baby daddy Rafael. After all, her ex-fiance Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) is still in the picture. Season 2 will also be featuring another wedding apart from Jane’s.

“Jane The Virgin” Season 2 is set to premiere on Monday, October 12, at 9:00 pm EDT on The CW.
