The iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus are the alleged forthcoming smartphones from Apple that is expected to go into mass production by June this year. Apple is also rumoured to release the iPhone 6C and the iPhone 7 flagship this year. Fresh reports claim that the Cupertino tech giant will include an edge-to-edge display and Apple SIM on the forthcoming iPhone.

Edge-to-Edge Display

The Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge that comes with a dual-edge curved screen is receiving good reception from the audience. The Korea Times claims that Samsung has received 20 million pre-orders. According to IBN Live, like the Galaxy S6 Edge, the iPhone 6S or the iPhone 6S Plus or the iPhone 7 may feature edge-to-edge display.

Apple SIM

The iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus are rumoured to feature Apple SIM. It is nothing but a pre-installed SIM feature that first arrived on the iPad Air 2. A SIM card slot allows users to switch SIM card from different carriers. In order to change a SIM card by acquiring a new one, users are required to visit the store of the carrier which can be a time consuming processor.

The Apple SIM feature allows users to switch carriers seamlessly. Users can simply access the Settings app and choose the desired plan from different carriers. According to Forbes, users can conveniently switch between networks from AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. Since the iPad Air 2 supports 20 kinds of LTE bands from GSM and CDMA networks, its users can easily use the tablet while traveling overseas.

Other iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus Features

According to the International Business Times report published on March 9, the forthcoming iPhones will be powered by the new Apple A9 chipset and 2 GB of RAM. Rumours also indicate that it will house an 8 MP dual-lens camera system.

The 3D Touch feature will allow the handset to recognize touches with lighter and harder pressure. As of this writing, none of the details revealed by the iPhone 6S rumours have been confirmed by Apple.
