The Apple iPhone 7 and the iPhone 6S are the two Apple smartphones that are expected to get released by September this year. As of this writing, Apple has not confirmed anything on the successor models for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

According to The Fust Joplin (FJP), the Apple iPhone 6S will come with a 4-inch display whereas the iPhone 7 will house a 4.7-inch or 5.5-in display. The display of the iPhone 7 is rumoured to come with sapphire crystal glass. The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus that arrived in the previous was speculated to feature the highly durable glass, but Apple did not introduce this feature on the iPhone 6 duo. Hence, the same feature is expected to come on the iPhone 7.

Samsung and Sony have already rolled out devices that are resistant to water and dust. According to Apple Insider, instead of adopting the regular method of protecting the entire casing of the device, Apple’s new patent suggest that it aims at waterproofing the internal parts of the system by using hydrophobic coating. Other companies prefer to protect their device from water damage by waterproofing the entire casing. According to 9 to 5 Mac, it results in the modification of the design of the handset.

Samsung is said to be manufacturing a power efficient 14nm chip that will be eventually used as A9 chip on the iPhone 7, says FJP. The processor will be able to deliver better performance in a smaller device. A recent survey conducted by 9 to 5 Mac on the battery performance of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus suggest that only 7 percent of users are satisfied with it.

More than 60 percent of the people who participated in the survey suggested the next iPhone should come with thicker chassis in order to house a larger and improved battery. The International Business Times report says the iPhone 7 is expected to house a bigger capacity battery. Wireless charging that has been introduced on the Galaxy S6, is also expected to come on the forthcoming iPhone.
