The new iPad Air Type can serve as a protective shield for the iPad Air and iPad Air 2, as well as an added Bluetooth keyboard. Priced at $189, it just might be the most expensive iPad keyboard in the market, according to CNET.

The Typo keyboard has been readily made with full-sized keys that turn it into every typist’s dream. Typing activities become easier and faster – with only very little room for typographical errors. Plus, it also features a flexible hinge that allows users to use the gadget while placing it on the lap.

Unfortunately, the device does not readily come with backlit keys – which make typing in a dark place near to impossible. Plus, the keyboard accessory also somehow makes the Typo less attractive, as compared to its competitors.

Although the iPad Air Typo features some nice touches that could make typists’ eyes light up, it would appear that it is highly likely unable to deliver as much as its price tag demands.

With the new Typo, typing experience may be satisfying but it has done very little to outpace competitors that are attached to a cheaper price tag and with even more features. Purchasing a 16 GB iPad Air 2 – together with the Typo keyboard accessory – will set buyers back approximately $688.

As the report had stated, tech users who are looking for a more efficient device could easily go for a 64 GB Microsoft Surface 3 – together with a keyboard cover, a Surface Pen, and some extra cash leftover.

As pointed out by Mac Rumors, Typo Keyboards will begin selling its product for the iPad Air and iPad Air 2 through its website. This was announced only a couple of days after Typo had reportedly reached a settlement with Blackberry that it should not launch the Typo keyboard accessory for its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones.

Apparently, adding the keyboard to the Cupertino tech giant’s current flagship smartphones made it look like the physical keyboard that can be found on most of the Blackberry devices that can be seen in the tech market today.
