iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 release date will happen in October 22, according to a report by AllThingsD.

Insiders tipped AllThingsD that tech giant Apple will hold an invitation-only event on Tuesday, October 22. The main stars of the said event are the refreshed iPad line. Apple is also expected to introduce the new MacBook Pro, Mac Pro desktop and the OS X Mavericks.

The report said that the event will not be held at the California Theatre in San Jose, California where Apple also unveiled the iPad 4 and iPad Mini last year. Instead, the event will most likely take place at Apple's Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

This is not the first time that October 22 was rumoured to be the release date of the new iPads. Current Editorials first reported that Apple will hold a launch event on the said date. Previous rumours claimed that iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 release date will happen on October 15.

It is worth noting that this alleged iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 release date will coincide with Nokia's Innovation Reinvented event and the debut of Surface 2 on retailers.

According to the undying rumours, iPad 5 will pack features such as a faster 64-bit A7 processor chip and a separate M7 GPU chip for graphics. The device will include features like fingerprint sensor, 5MP rear shooter and internal storage up to 128GB. Rumours also claimed that iPad 5 will have a slimmer bezel and iPad Mini-like design.

iPad Mini 2, on the other hand, will still have a 7.9 inches screen display but may include a retina display. The miniature iPad will also pack a 64-bit A7 processor and Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

However, Apple still has not confirmed this rumoured release date as well as the concrete specs and features of the tablets.
