As Samsung Galaxy line has gained a reputation for bringing innovative specs and features to its smartphones, Samsung Galaxy S5 has become one of the most anticipated devices of 2014.

Samsung began to send invites for a media event in Barcelona, Spain on Feb. 24. The expected launch of Galaxy S5 in this event is called "Unpacked 5."

The press release from Samsung's blog said, "You've been waiting for a long time for this. Samsung Unpacked 2014 Episode 1 is coming up!

At previous Samsung Unpacked events, the 'The Next Big Thing' has been shown. On March 2013, Samsung introduced Galaxy S4 in September 2013, Galaxy Note 3 and Gear. These events were also livestreamed on official Samsung channels. Live blogging was also available on Samsung Tomorrow.

At the Samsung Unpacked 2014 on Monday, February, 2014 what can you expect to see? Mark the date and come visit us to see the unpacking of The Next Big Thing(?.. even the Samsung Tomorrow team doesn't know yet), live on global.samsungtomorrow.com"

Although the press release did not mention, the consensus is "Unpacked 5" which will launch the Galaxy S5. Given that Samsung has not launched any device at the Mobile World Congress since 2011, the Galaxy S5 launch is most likely and pretty hard to imagine what else the "Unpacked 5" event will be for.

Galaxy S5 Specs And Features

Rumors suggested Samsung Galaxy S5 killer specs and features have been plentiful. The next flagship smartphone from the Korean tech giant is expected to feature 64-bit octa-core processor, 1440 p display, 4 GB RAM, 16 MP sensor rear camera, and 3200 mAh battery in both metal and plastic covers.

It is interesting to wait and see if these killer specs and features hold true when the Galaxy S5 is launched. The Samsung Galaxy series smartphones are by far the iPhone's competitor and if these specs and features are accurate, it will be tough competition for Apple.

The "Unpacked 5" event is set to begin at 14:00 ET, 11:00 PT and will be on livestream at http://youtube.com/samsungmobile.
