Just a couple of days before the release of the animated movie “Ratchet & Clank,” Insomniac’s “Ratchet & Clank” remastered video game will hit the PS4. Fans can look forward to an April filled with “Ratchet & Clank,” thanks to Insomniac Games’ title coming out on April 12, 2016.

Insomniac Games announced this new development at the PlayStation Experience keynote address, according to GameSpot. This is just days from the expected date when the movie will hit theatres, scheduled on April 29, 2016. The upcoming movie boasts quite an impressive voice cast, with the new game’s story partially hinged on the upcoming film.

The upcoming “Ratchet & Clank” take is not just a straight remake. The developer aimed for a reimagined gameplay and added other story elements. So the “Ratchet & Clank” remastered will be influenced by other stories of the series. According to the report, a mix of nostalgic and new weapons can be found in the remake, such as Groovitron, which makes characters dance and the Pixelator, which turns enemies helpless once they become retro 8-bit graphics.

The bouncer weapon from “Going Commando” is also coming back with the new game. After watching the video released by Insomniac Games over its official website, the first thing fans will notice with the remaster treatment is the graphics. It is a true remaster that plays on the PS4’s strengths in graphics, making it come alive like the animated movie series.

Handling the game is just as smooth, as seen in the stage demo, iDigitalTimes reported. The shooting control is good and the melee bashing is remarkable. This serves as a great way to introduce new players who may not have been fans of the “Ratchet & Clank” series prior to this game’s release.

The real test for “Ratchet & Clank” will be if it gives a better narrative than the previous games in the series. Fans can already preorder the game via the PlayStation Store.
