Fans of the horror genre have something to look forward this year with the upcoming release of the game "Kholat." The indie horror game has scored a major win by getting Hollywood actor Sean Bean on board the project. The actor has been roped in to serve as the narrator in the game.

You may recall Bean—not to be confused with the fictional comedy character Mr Bean—as Boromir in the film adaptation of "The Lord of the Rings" and also from his short-lived role as Eddard "Ned" Stark in the "Game of Thrones" series. The British actor, who has theatre background, has made his mark in Hollywood with supporting roles in major big-budget productions. He went on to score the leading role in the film adaptation of "Silent Hill." Bean also has prior video game experience in his portfolio with voice acting credits for playing Martin Septim in "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion."

"Kholat" is developed by IMGN.PRO, a Polish developer that is self-publishing the game. The game is based on a real-life incident involving the unsolved deaths of nine skiers that occurred north of the Ural Mountains of Russia. The event is widely known as the Dyatlov Pass incident in pop culture.

Named after the Kholat Syakhl area, which translates into "Mountain of the Dead," the game throws the player into Dyatlov Pass several years after the original event to find out what really happened. The developer has also released a new trailer for the game explaining the game, which you can view at the end of this article.

Sean Bean is widely known as the actor who keeps getting killed off in virtually all his films. That quaint coincidence has caught on over the Internet, enough to spawn off memes and YouTube videos on the subject. Fortunately for him, there's no chance of him getting killed off in "Kholat" since he's only serving as a narrator in the game. The game releases on second quarter of 2015 for PC and Mac.
