Iggy Azalea shortly broke her social media hiatus as she took to Twitter on Tuesday to tell her fans how excited she was for the release of her “Pretty Girls” collaboration with Britney Spears, NME reported. The Aussie rapper also cleared up confusion on the song’s writing credits and confirmed a stage performance with Spears sometime in the future to promote their new single.

“Hi just wanted to come online and tell you all how extremely excited iam for Pretty Girls to be released & that we are going to perform it 2,” the 24-year-old tweeted. She continued to tell her followers, however, that she was not fully returning to social media, but has decided to do a monthly chat with them, possibly even a video stream. She also confirms that she is still working on her new album, with “work” type vibes that fans will be happy to hear.

The “Black Widow” singer stayed on Twitter a bit longer to answer more fan questions and to clear up the confusion about who exactly wrote “Pretty Girls,” BreatheHeavy reported. A few months ago, reports about Little Mix and Azalea working on a then-unknown track “Pretty Girls” came to light, but the rapper had denied the song’s affiliations with Little Mix, also not disclosing that it was to become Spear’s single.

The English group, however, continued to receive writing credits on the song, which created muddles among the fans. Azalea has then set the record straight, saying that Little Mix was in the studio when the demo version of the song was written, which is why the group has remained on the credits.

Azalea turned her back on Twitter in February and Instagram in March, surrendering her accounts to her managing team as she thought they were too “negative and draining.” The rapper had constantly received tremendous internet backlash, complete with body shaming and reprimanding for being a white girl in the hip-hop world. Azalea believes that the criticisms were "100,000 per cent to do with the fact I have a vagina,” saying that the likes of Macklemore and Eminem were not given the same treatment as hers even when they were all basically doing “black music.”

“Pretty Girls,” the newest single from Spears’ ninth studio album, is set to be released on May 5 in the US while a release date in the UK is still yet to be announced. Azalea has confirmed that she has co-directed the song’s ‘80s-inspired music video, which was filmed in Studio City in California.
