Boxing trainer Greg Hackett breaks down and chimed in on the super fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. Hackett talks about the mistakes that Pacquiao might make and he believes that Mayweather will exploit those blunders to emerge victorious on the much-anticipated May 2 showdown in Las Vegas.

According to Hackett, both fighters will certainly bring out the best in each other. However, there is one thing that he worries about. Hackett said that every time that Pacquiao shoots his right jab, the Filipino drops his left hand making him open for a counter or a straight right hand.

“Sometimes when Pacquiao throws his jab, he’ll give you a good jab, but then he’ll start to roll it, he’ll pop it, but then it drops,” Hackett told Fight Hype. “That’s the type of things that Mayweather is looking for, so you make those types of mistakes, so you are going to have to pay for it.”

Pacquiao’s style matches up terrible against counter punchers. The Filipino boxing icon has previously admitted that only Juan Manuel Marquez, who is known to be a brilliant counter puncher, had presented a real challenge to him. Pacquiao made those remarks short after his controversial majority decision victory over the Mexican counter puncher. On May 2, Pacquiao will face another tough challenge against Mayweather deemed as the greatest counter puncher of the current era.

Even though Hackett claims that Mayweather has somewhat slowed down a bit in the last five years, he is still tapping on the undefeated American fighter to win the super fight via 12-round decision. He said that Mayweather is still one of the toughest fighters in the game adding that the undefeated Grand Rapids native is in top shape.

Mayweather has self-proclaimed himself as “The Best Ever” and Hackett knows why. He said that Mayweather studies the fight videos of the world’s top fighters to improve his own boxing skills. Hackett said that Mayweather may be playing it cool in front of the camera but the undefeated fighter is actually doing his homework to keep his A-game.
