“The Vampire Diaries” actor Ian Somerhalder almost got co-star Michael Malarkey in trouble with his wife, Nadine Lewington. Malarkey has revealed in an interview that Somerhalder left him with a hickey during their stay in Las Vegas.

Malarkey, who attended the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, shared to E! News that he tried to cover up just a little bit the hickey Somerhalder recently gave him. “It's just kind of a hard thing to explain to the Mrs.,” Malarkey confessed.

Malarkey recounted that he and Somerhalder were messing around in a photo op booth while attending a TVD convention in Vegas. “Ian said everyone needs a little bit of Malarkey, and then he took a bite out of my neck,” Malarkey told E! News.

To make sure that his wife will not get mad at him, Malarkey asked Somerhalder to make a video and admit to Malarkey’s wife he was the one to blame for the hickey incident. Meanwhile, Malarkey and Somerhalder will be at odds with each other as vampires Enzo and Damon in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7.

Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 spoilers.

Malarkey teased that Augustine vampire Enzo will be forced to make “big decisions” in the new season of the CW TV series because of his connection to Lily Salvatore (Annie Wersching). Lily has become the new threat in Mystic Falls after releasing her ruthless vampire-witch family from the Gemini Coven’s 1903 prison world.

Enzo’s friendship with Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) will be put to the test since Damon is against the plans of his mother, Lily. “As far as my character goes, there is loads of good, juicier stuff,” Malarkey teased.

Enzo will have to choose in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 which side he really wants to be on since the new big bad villains of the show cause major trouble in Mystic Falls. Entertainment Weekly (EW) reports that TVD executive producer Julie Plec talked about how the Heretics remind her of the layered and very complex Mikaleson family.

The CW TV series’ new season will also tell stories through present-day Mystic Falls and a flash-forward to three years in the future. “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 premieres on Thursday night, Oct. 8, at 8/7c on the CW Network.
