Ian Somerhalder And Nikki Reed Are Married Four Months After Engagement

As the bells tolled in Vampire heaven last Sunday, millions of hearts were breaking back on earth. As mere mortals mourned their chances with both Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed, the pair made their union official by tying the knot last Sunday.

“Vampire Diaries” actor Ian Somerhalder wed “Twilight” actress Nikki Reed in an intimate ceremony in Malibu California on Sunday, April 26. The sunset ceremony took place in Topanga Canyon where there were surrounded by trees and grassy lands. E Online shared some paparazzi photos that started to come out on Monday morning after the ceremony was over.

The couple was seen holding each other as they look away into the horizon. Another photo showed Ian carrying his bride in his arms. The bride wore a conservative fishtail gown with long lace sleeves. People Magazine states that the gown was designed by Claire Pettibone. Ian matched his ladylove by donning a crisp all-white suit.

The pair went through a whirlwind romance after first being seen publicly together only in July last year. They got engaged back in January and have now tied the knot just barely four months later. E News also reports that the couple bonded over their common interest in animal welfare. In fact, the actors decided to accept gifts for their wedding in the form of donations to their animal rescue charity.

Their love for animals has also driven the couple to adopt a horse as well as a kitten shortly after getting together. Now that they are married, the family could quickly expand as the baby bump watch begins. The couple moved quickly and got married less than a year after they were first spotted packing on the PDA in a Los Angeles Farmer’s Market last July.

Prior to dating Ian, Nikki was married to American Idol alum Paul McDonald. They announced their split only in March last year, just months before she was spotted with Ian. For his part, this is Ian’s first marriage but he was in a high profile long term relationship with his “Vampire Diaries” co-star Nina Dobrev before ending up with Nikki.
