In this week’s episode of “I Am Cait,” Caitlyn Jenner goes out of her comfort zone and attends New York Pride Week. She also tries to reach out to her male friends to help them feel more comfortable about her transition.

Ever since her transition, Caitlyn has been surrounded by a lot of support and love. However, she admits to her friend and fellow transgender Candis Cayne that she has received some negative feedback both from inside and outside her family.

She opens up and says that some members of her family think that the Vanity Fair cover was too sexy, among other issues. She also says that the women in her life seem to have had an easier time dealing with the transition.

Caitlyn invites Scott Disick over in order to start reaching out to the male friends and family members that had been a part of his life back when she was still known as Bruce. Scott is the father of Caitlyn’s grandchildren from her stepdaughter, Kourtney Kardashian.

Scott tells Caitlyn that her new look will take some getting used to, but he appears to be comfortable and completely supportive. However, he admits that he can see why it may not be the same case for other men in Caitlyn’s life.

“I don’t know if any man in the world will be comfortable,” Scott said. He also says that he’s different from Caitlyn’s male buddies. She is the grandparent of his children and they have known each other a very long time. Caitlyn’s other friends may not necessarily be as comfortable with forming a relationship with his new identity.

After reaching out to Scott, Caitlyn decides to invte his friend Sergio to come over to look at some helicopters. Sergio owns a hobby shop that Caitlyn used to frequent as Bruce. Sergio agress but he doesn’t show up.

Caitlyn is disappointed but she doesn’t give up. She decides to risk getting followed by paparazzi and comes over to the hobby shop. Sergio squirms in his seat and looks visibly uncomfortable. Caitlyn starts to joke around with him and helps him see that she’s still the same person. He starts to loosen up and says that Caitlyn will take some getting used to but he’s just happy if his friend is happy.

Caitlyn is ecstatic to finally have come face to face with another male friend. She feels that she just needs to keep reaching out so that they can get used to her. She makes it a mission to reach out to more friends one by one.

Meanwhile, apart from dealing with her personal relationships, she also has the bigger picture to think about. Caitlyn decides to attend New York Pride Week with Candis and her other trans friends. She has some apprehensions about being so publicly exposed, but Candis and the other girls convince her that she needs to take steps toward becoming part of the LGBT community.

They notice that she still talks about other trans women in the third person. They tell her to start learning to embrace the word “we” in order to avoid isolating herself from the rest of the community.

She steps out during Candis’ show at Pride Week and she’s completely overwhelmed by the positive response. She is welcomed with a massive round of applause and hundreds of people chanting her name.

She receives a warm welcome, and the other members of the LGBT community are appreciative of the exposure she is giving their issues. Despite the positive response, however, Caitlyn knows that she and the community have a long way to go. She continues her journey and tries to shine a spotlight on the most pressing issues plaguing the community.

“I Am Cait” airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. EDT on E!
