After starring as Katniss Everdeen in Suzanne Collins "Hunger Games" novel, Jennifer Lawrence is set to star in another film adaptation, "East of Eden." Lawrence along with Director Gary Ross is set to remake the 1955 award winning movie by Elia Kazan. Here's all there is to know about Lawrence's latest film deal.

Jennifer Lawrence is hoping to win another Oscar award with her latest film deal, "East of Eden." The film is to be produced by Imagine Entertainment and Universal Pictures which will be a two-part take on the 1952 novel written by John Steinbeck.

Lawrence is up for the part of Cathy Ames, the central character in the film who is a corrupting and malevolent influence on the Trask family. Jo Van Fleet originally played that part in the film directed by Elia Kazan where she won the Oscar Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Production for the "East of Eden" movie may however take longer than expected given Lawrence is currently filming the final two films for the "Hunger Games", "Mockingjay." As for "East of Eden," the film adaptation is one other book turned film written by John Steinbeck.

Director Steven Spielberg is also slated to produce another classic novel written by Steinbeck, "The Grapes of Wrath" with DreamWorks production at the helm. Additional details for Jennifer Lawrence's film are yet to be announced.
