After reports on Huawei likely launch of its high end smartphone Huawei Mate 8, surfaced online, some more unconfirmed reports hint at the company’s plans to launch a new entry-level smartphone that is expected to be called the Huawei Y6 Scale. The smartphone, which is expected to be launched on July 30, could be available at a price tag of $165, according to reports.

Huawei Y6 Scale is expected to sport a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280, which works out a pixel density of 294ppi. The entry level smartphone is likely to get powered by the Snapdragon 210 chipset with a quad-core CPU and the Adreno 304 GPU. Besides that, it also features 1 GB RAM with 8 GB expandable storage, 8 MP rear camera, 2 MP front camera, a 2200mAh battery and Android 5.0 comes pre-installed with Huawei's Emotion UI running on top, reports Phonearena.com. The publication also mentioned that other likely features of the Huawei Y6 Scale include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

Huawei recently launched its next Honor smartphone i.e. the Honor 7, which is available in three variants. The lowest variant of Honor 7 with 16 GB storage and LTE has been priced at $322, the mid-range variant with the same 16 GB storage and dual SIM 4G LTE will cost $354 and the top end variant with 64 GB internal storage and dual 4G LTE SIM will be available at a price tag of $402.

On July 20, the company announced that it has generated 175.9 billion yuan (about $28.3 billion) in revenue in the first half of 2015, which is a 30 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Going by the data released by market research firm TrendForce, Huawei has grabbed 7.6 percent in the global smartphone market in Q2 2015. However, in the highly concentrated smartphone market in China, Huawei tops the chart with 18.3 percent market share, followed by Xiaomi that has grabbed 14.3 percent market share, according to a CNET report.
