The Lenovo K4 Note smartphone is the current rage among consumers looking for ideal budget phones. However, it might face competition with the Huawei Honor 5X, which also hails as one of the cheapest smartphones with innovative features.

Launched last week in the United States, the Honor 5X was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas where the Chinese company announced its price at US$199.99 (approx. AU$285). It is believed that the two devices, Honor 5X and Lenovo K4 Note, will come in direct competition with each other. Let us compare both the phones and find out if there is a winner.

Display

According to the Times of India, the display quality is the same for the two phones. Both the handsets boast of a 5.5-inch display screen with an IPS screen technology and full HD 1,080 x 1,920p resolutions.

Operating system

As far as software is concerned, both the phones share similar operating systems with only a few basic differences. Based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, the Honor 5X’s internal architecture is based upon Emotion UI 3.1. On the other hand, the Lenovo K4 Note also runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS but has a Vive UI internal built.

Processor

The Honor 5X is equipped by an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor along with four 1.5GHz cores and four 1.2GHz cores. Lenovo K4 Note, on the other hand, is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor with 1.3GHz.

Storage options

The internal storage options are same for both the phones that offer 16GB internal storage capacity expandable to 128GB by inserting a microSD card.

Camera

The Lenovo K4 Note features a 13MP camera sensor with an f/2.2 camera aperture along with a phase-detection autofocus, dual-LED flash and two-tone characteristic. On the contrary, the Honor 5X comes with a 13MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture capacity with dual-LED flash.

A review of the abovementioned features reveals that the two phones offer great features and both emerge as winners.
