The Lenovo Vibe K4 Note was unveiled recently to succeed the Lenovo K3 Note. The newer smartphone comes with impressive specs and attractive pricing.

The Lenovo K3 Note that was launched in March 2014 was well-received by customers and critics. The K4 Note, with its premium appeal, is expected to meet even a more positive response from the audience. The specs, release date and price of the newly announced Lenovo Vibe K4 Note has been compared with Lenovo K3 Note.

Design and display

The Lenovo K4 Note measures 153.6 x 76.5 x 9.2 millimetres and weighs 158 grammes whereas the K3 Note measures 152.6 x 76.2 x 8 millimetres and weighs 150 grammes. The older smartphone features a polycarbonate build and is available in colour options like black, white and yellow.

The K4 Note also features a polycarbonate chassis along with a durable metallic frame. It is only available in black. The Lenovo K4 Note is enabled with two front-facing stereo speakers. Both the smartphones are fitted with a 5.5-inch display that supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Chipset, RAM and storage

The MediaTek MT6753 chipset that features a 1.3 GHz octa-core processor is present under the hood of Lenovo K4 Note. The smartphone is available in two RAM variants.

The 3GB RAM model features 16GB of storage whereas the 2GB RAM model will be available in storage editions such as 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. All editions come with external storage support of up to 128GB.

The Lenovo K3 Note is powered by MediaTek MT6752 chipset that houses a 1.7 GHz octa-core processor. It is supported by 2GB of RAM. The internal storage available on the device is 16GB and it supports up to 32GB of microSD card on external storage.

Camera, connectivity and new features

Both the handsets feature dual-LED enabled 13MP camera, but the K4 Note’s shooter is equipped with auto phase detection feature. Both the devices also feature a 5MP selfie shooter. The Lenovo K4 Note’s Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and K3 Note’s Android 5.0 Lollipop OS are both overlaid Vibe UI from Lenovo.

The Lenovo K4 and K3 Note comes with connectivity features like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB OTG and aGPS. The K4 Note also comes with NFC, a feature that is absent on the K3 Note.

The Lenovo K4 Note comes with special features such as fingerprint scanner and TheaterMax. According to Times Of India, the TheaterMax will allow users to convert multimedia content such as games and videos into virtual reality content that can be viewed on a bigger display. The older model does not support these features.

Battery and price

The Lenovo K4 Note features a larger battery of 3,300 mAh capacity that carries support for fast charging. The K3 Note is packed with a 3,000 mAh battery.

The new smartphone is priced at 11,900 INR (AU$252) and along with ANTVR virtual reality headset, it is priced at 12,499 INR (AU$265). The VR headset is separately available for 1,299 INR (AU$27). The Lenovo K3 Note is now available with a lower price tag of 9,999 INR (AU$212).
