Huawei has finally sent out invitations to the media for an event in London on April 6, ending speculations over when the Chinese smartphone maker will unveil the Huawei P9.

Although the exact time of the event is yet to be communicated, there are already numerous rumours about what to expect, including claims that Huawei will launch four P9 variants this year.

This includes a regular P9, a pocket-friendly P9lite, a giant screen P9max and a “feature-enhanced” version which sits between the regular P9 and P9max.

The invite, which reads “change the way you see the world,” also hints at a dual camera setup, adding fuel to the fire of images leaked last week that strongly indicate the Huawei P9 will come with dual-rear cameras, dual-LED flash and a rounded square fingerprint scanner at the back, as reported by 9to5Google.

The Huawei P9 is said to be the first smartphone in the P series to sport a fingerprint scanner. There were earlier speculations that Huawei might incorporate the fingerprint scanner within the physical home button.

Apart from these cool additions, the rumoured Huawei P9 specs include a 5.2-inch Full HD 1080p display, an in-house Kirin 950 processor and 3GB RAM. The smartphone is also expected to sport 32GB of storage and a huge 3,600mAh battery.

The feature-rich enhanced version will probably come with a bigger display with 2K resolution. The premium model may come with 4GB of RAM and 62GB of internal storage space along with a dual rear camera module.

In 2015, Huawei launched three variants of the P8 with various screen sizes. The basic P8 features a 5.2-inch display, while the affordable P8lite model comes with a 5.0-inch display. The giant screen P8max features a huge 6. 8-inch screen.

The successor to the popular Huawei P8 is expected to be shipped in five colour variants: Black, Grey, White, Gold and Pink.
