Poot_evans wrote that he has come to terms with the S3 dropping from the top place and HTC One emerging on top is a signal for him to look at other alternatives.

RonL disagreed. He wrote, "Comparing the Samsung S3 to the iPhone5 or the HTC One is a bit like comparing a pick up truck to a Ferrari or an Aston Martin. Looks wise the Apple and the HTC win hands down, while the Samsung is...well fugly. So would I choose any other phone over the S3? Not a chance. As a workphone and a multimedia device, no phone does heavy lifting better than the Samsung."

Durray added, "Wow so much respect for this site for having the balls to take Samsung off the number 1 spot! But to be fair, this is probably the first time it has deserved to fall down the rankings a little. Hopefully, this will signal a good year for HTC. Lord knows they need it."

Meanwhile, Mashable quoted PhoneArena that a smartphone similar in look to the HTC but with a lower price tag is set to be launched. The Web site named the device as HTC M4 and speculated it would be rolled out toward the end of Q2 of 2013, featuring an LTE and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
