HTC may launch the One X9 after the Lunar New Year Holiday in early February next year. HTC stores are expected to start stocking the new mid-range smartphone for selling once the phone launches in the market.

A post on XDA Forum mentioned about the possible launch of the HTC One X9 between February and March in 2016. The Chinese Lunar New Year holiday falls between Feb. 6 and Feb. 14, and the new model is expected to arrive after the holidays.

According to Focus Taiwan, HTC is reportedly set to launch the next generation mid-range device. However, the tech company did not reveal anything more about the device, but rumours suggest it’s the new HTC One X9 model.

Some recent X9 render leaks point out details about the phone. An HTC fan posted about the design and specs on the official Weibo site. The phone was spotted on TENAA with a 5.5-inch display screen designed with IPS technology. The screen is packed with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution for brighter images.

Rumours also suggest that the phone will measure 153.2 x 75.9 x 7.99 mm and weigh a mere 174 grams. You get to enjoy 16GB internal storage space, which is expandable up to 1TB with a microSD card.

A 2.2GHz octa-core processor determines the speed and performance of the device. You can rely on its 2GB RAM that allows smooth transition between pages without hiccups. The phone has an Android 5.0.2 operating system running at its core. As for the camera, the X9 will sport a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera, reports Times News.

The connectivity options include GPS, TD-LTE, USB, TD-SCDMA, 4G LTE FDD, Bluetooth, WCDMA, and more. Expect a 3,000 mAH battery that will ensure the long-running life of your phone.

The price of the phone could be between NT$12,000 (approx. AU$505) and NT$15,000 (approx. AU$632), notes Focus Taiwan.
