Last week, HTC’s Vice President of Product Management, Mo Versi, apparently tweeted saying the HTC One M7 users will not receive the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop update, with the exception of the Google Play edition. But then, many HTC users have reportedly expressed concerns and dissatisfaction on the decision. But now, taking the feedback seriously, HTC VP has again tweeted saying the One M7 owners’ concerns will be considered. Meaning, the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for HTC One M7 could be rolled out.

In the meantime, it is worth noting that, HTC reportedly promises to roll out software updates for a total of two years from the time the device gets launched. However, within the two years span, HTC has apparently updated the well-received One M7 handset from Android 4.1.2 to Android 5.0 Lollipop, notes Phone Arena. Moreover, the latest tweet from Versi states that he had taken note of all of the comments/concerns from the HTC One M7 owners. In addition, he has also stated that most of the bug fixes and the fix for the issues caused by the Android 5.0 Lollipop update have already been built inside HTC's current software. He apparently ended the tweet on a positive note saying “Stay Tuned.” Interested readers can check out the tweet by scrolling down.

In hindsight, Phone Arena says, the company reportedly stated that the HTC Desire will not be upgraded to Android Gingerbread 2.3. This is reportedly because of the meagre amount of RAM configuration housed in the device i.e. 576 MB. However, looking at the number of comments from HTC Desire users, HTC reversed the plan and in turn, removed several apps from the pre-installed software list on the handset and ultimately, rolled out the update. Since the tech giant takes customer feedback seriously, it is a possibility that the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for HTC One M7 will indeed be rolled out.

On the other hand, the HTC One M7 comes with 2 GB of RAM configuration. And therefore, internal memory space required for the Android 5.1 Lollipop update should not be a problem. And by honouring the One M7 users’ wish, HTC might as well be furthering the trust and faith of the users on the company and its products. Moreover, this gesture could also make an impact, in case, potential buyers are undecided between the latest Samsung Galaxy S6 and the HTC One M9, notes the same site.
