How 2011 VMAs Out-Tweeted Every Award and Celebrity in MTV History [PHOTOS]

Beyonce shocked the whole world when she held her stomach lovingly, revealing her baby-bump at the black carpet. Kanye West keeping it together. A show-stopping, breathtaking performance by Adele and Lady Gaga’s tweets on her Little Monsters.

These are just some of the highlights of this year’s Video Music Awards by MTV which had out-Twitted any event and celebrity since the social networking site has begun as one forum that connects people in the age of the information and communication technology.

MTV’s 28th Video Music Awards has reportedly driven a recorded 10 million tweets, according to MTV News, citing the data for the social-networking site.

The event, held at Nokia Theater, Los Angeles, California also set Beyonce as the Hollywood celebrity which raked in the most number of mentions on Twitter per second.

Data showed, added MTV.com that Beyonce was tweeted 8, 868 per second. This number reportedly “helped 2011 VMAs the most watched broadcast in MTV history” now recorded at a staggering number at 12.4 million viewers.

This number also shows that Beyonce’s preggy announcement can now be considered the biggest official announcement among celebrity ever! And this also means, that Beyonce’s baby is likely to outrank other celebrity babies’ popularities. Move over Suri and Shiloh! Here comes Beyonce baby!

Emphasizing that Twitter has made this year’s VMAs most-watched award show, MTV News noted that the raging tweets began as the black-carpet pre-show was just kicking in inside the JW Marriott in downtown Los Angeles.

Some notable Twitter accounts believed to have lit up the trends in the social networking site include #whatwillgagawear, #DemiYouAreBeautiful and of course, BEYONCE IS PREGNANT. Other shout-outs to Justin Bieber and Joe Jonas have also reportedly sparked the social networking trends.
