“Homeland” Season 6 is scheduled to officially premiere on Jan. 15, 2017. However, the show’s official Twitter account revealed that the first episode, “Fair Game,” will be available on Showtime On Demand as early as December 30.

Showrunner Alex Gansa said that “Homeland” Season 6 will open a potential romantic relationship between Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend). They thought that Carrie would kill Quinn at the end of Season 5 by pulling the plug. However, her faith and new found Catholicism kept her from doing so in the finale.

It was previously revealed that Quinn managed to survive but will go through major changes. The Quinn in “Homeland” Season 6 will not be the same. He is actually going to open up possibilities with Carrie. In “Fair Game,” Quinn will struggle with his new circumstances. Quinn will represent a familiar casualty of the war of terror for viewers. His challenges in the past year will be quite different from the things that he will encounter in Season 6, particularly with Carrie.

Carrie and Quinn may spend more time together as he recovers physically and mentally. He will have changed a lot because of everything he went through last season. He may also see Carrie in a different way after his traumatic experience. How Carrie will respond remains to be seen.

The new season will be set in New York, where Franny is working as an advocate for Muslim Americans. Dar (F. Murray Abraham) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) will brief President-elect Keane. The story will happen between the election in November and inauguration in January. Both Dar and Saul will have a lot of opportunity to use their espionage skills against each other while they prep the incoming head of state.

In the new episode, Carrie will apparently be continuing the advocacy work she did in Berlin, and will eventually meet a computer hacker who ends up in jail, writes TVLine. “Fair Game” is still scheduled to launch on January 15 on TV, although Showtime On Demand is offering a chance for fans to see the episode earlier online. In Australia, it will air on the TEN Channel. More updates and details are expected soon.
