With only a few days before “Home and Away” hits the small screen on Jan. 30, the long-running soap gives a glimpse of what’s in store for its fans on the upcoming episodes. It’s definitely going to be one exciting year for Summer Bay, filled with drama, complicated relationships and even heart-stopping suspense.

Before “Home and Away” went into its year-end break back in December, the Morgans thought they were finally free, and their true identities were revealed. However, Tori Morgan (Penny McNamee), Brody Morgan (Jackson Heywood) and Mason Morgan (Orpheus Pledger) discovered that their nightmares were far from over – their brother Justin Morgan (James Stewart) even ended up fighting for his life.

On its Facebook page, “Home and Away” posted a sneak peek of the storylines to watch out for in the coming weeks. The Morgan family has a good reason to worry – their nemesis Ranae Turner (Sacha Horler) is back, and she’s out for vengeance. Dressed as a nurse, Ranae appears to be pretending to work at the Summer Bay hospital.

Speaking of shocking arrivals, Tori is taken aback to see her ex-boyfriend, surgeon Riley Hawkins (Ryan O'Kane), in town. Even more surprising is the fact that Nate also knows Riley. Later, Tori and Riley reminisced about their dreams before as a couple and it looks like they’re ready to rekindle romance. After Duncan Stewart (Benedict Wall), it seems Nate Cooper (Kyle Pryor) has to contend with fierce rival to win Tori’s heart.

Meanwhile, Irene Roberts (Lynne McGranger) is horrified when her son Mick Jennings (Kristian Schmid) suddenly shows up at her door. She heads to the police station to confront Kat, who tells her that the restraining order is in full force. “You promised me I’d be safe here. He just grabbed me in broad daylight!” Later, Irene sits down with Mick for a talk and he says sorry for what he did before. “Apology accepted,” she says.

Another Summer Bay resident will also get closure in the upcoming episodes. Leah Patterson-Baker (Ada Nicodemou) is greatly relieved that Sam Webster (Cheree Cassidy), the woman who almost ruined her marriage with Zac Macguire (Charlie Clausen), is leaving. “Just go back to the city, get on with your own life, and for everyone’s sake, just stay out of mine,” Leah tells Sam.

In another teaser posted on the show’s Facebook page, Summer Bay also faces a firestorm that seems to put some characters’ lives at risk. After a couple of false alarms, it seems Billie Ashford (Tessa De Josselin) is about to give birth for real this time, just as the firestorm breaks out. Hunter (Scott Lee), on the other hand, rushes to look for Olivia Richards (Raechelle Banno) and Zac follows after him. Fans wonder if the upcoming catastrophe would claim lives and if Summer Bay would lose some of its residents again.
