The Spain train crash that ended the life of at least 78 people took another interesting twist when the driver of the train refused to answer questions from Spanish authorities investigating the incident.

Galicia Police Chief Jaime Iglesias said the driver was placed under their custody for recklessness on his part which caused the gruesome train tragedy this week.

According to the Spanish Police, the 52-year-old Francisco Jose Garzon Amo has refused to answer their questions that will help them determine what really happened prior and during the accident.

"The driver has refused to answer the police authorities," said a police spokesman via News.com au, adding that the case will now "proceed to a judicial process as soon as possible".

Police cleared no crime has been charged against the driver as they wait for him to speak out. Mr Amo is still recovering from light injuries he suffered in the accident.
