When Hermione meets Hermione, it’s a true “Harry Potter” magic. Emma Watson, who famously played the brilliant young witch in the multibillion-dollar film franchise, has met with Noma Dumezweni, who plays the adult Hermione in the stage play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.”

Watson, 26, recently attended a performance of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” in London, later praising the actress and the “amazing” production.

“Some things about the play were, I think, possibly even more beautiful than the films,” she wrote on Facebook. “Having seen it felt more connected to Hermione and the stories than I have since Deathly Hallows came out, which was such a gift. Meeting Noma and seeing her on stage was like meeting my older self and have her tell me everything was going to be alright, which as you can imagine was immensely comforting (and emotional)!

She included photos of her and Dumezweni hugging in a dressing room, as well as with the rest of the cast.

In response, Dumezwen thanked Watson for her support.

The casting of Dumezweni, 46, as Hermione had been plagued with controversy from stubborn Potterheads who refused to see the fictional character as a black woman. “Harry Potter” author JK Rowling, defended the English actress from the haters, reminding them that she did not mention race in the books, and therefore Dumezweni was a perfect choice to play the role.

Unlike Watson though, co-star Daniel Radcliffe, who played the titular Potter, had no plans to watch the play. Although he was “genuinely intrigued,” he would avoid watching the play to turn the spotlight away from him.

“I could be completely wrong in this, but I feel like if I went to see it that night, there’s going to be a lot of Harry Potter fans there in the audience obviously and would than then be a thing?” he said to E! News. “Would it be more about them watching me watch the show or would it take away from the show?”

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” is set 19 years after the ending of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” It follows Harry and his younger son Albus Severus Potter. Jamie Parker plays Harry, Paul Thornley plays Ron Weasley, Poppy Miller plays Ginny, and Alex Price plays Draco Malfoy.
