Amazon is now selling Harry Potter ebooks in the Kindle Store. Since 2012, Harry Potter ebooks have been part of Kindle Unlimited. But now the online retailer has quietly listed the ebooks for sale. It can also be purchased from Nook Store.

Amazon has listed the Harry Potter ebooks for US$7.4 on the Kindle Store. Customers can also find these ebooks on Nook Store as well at US$9.

In 2012, J.K. Rowling launched the ebook series on Pottermore. It was the only source of Harry Potter ebooks and audiobooks .

Thus, Amazon Prime members were open to “borrow” any of the Harry Potter books per month for free.

Last year, in October, Apple announced to launch enhanced editions of all seven books of Rowling’s Harry Potter series on the iBook Store. This means, readers across the world could enjoy the thrilling stories on their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac.

“J.K. Rowling’s legendary series is perfect for enjoying on your iPad or iPhone and we’re thrilled to offer them exclusively on the iBooks Store,” said Apple’s CEO Tim Cook in a press note.

However, all the digital rights of the content were held by Rowling’s own Pottermore. As mentioned by the Digital Reader, the website launched in partnership with Sony, turned out to be a massive failure. The sales dropped by £24.8 million to £7 million by the end of March 2015.

This might have compelled Pottermore to give up all rights of its content and reach out to the masses. Thus, the obvious choice was to land on Kindle, the all time favourite of ebook readers across the globe.

The Harry Potter series of books include seven fantasy novels by J.K Rowling. It includes the adventures of a young wizard and his friends. The books have been made into movies by Warner Bros. The first Harry Potter book was released in the United States on Sep. 1 in 1998.
