Although currently the smartphones and tablets have been dominating the world of digital reading but for many an eBook reader is still the best choice. It is easy to hold and use and distraction-free. For all the bookworms out there who prefer to grab a digital version rather than paper pages, the brand new Kindle Paperwhite can change the reading experience all together. The new Kindle Paperwhite comes with a sharp, high-resolution screen and advanced hardware for a good digital reading experience at the same price.

Currently there are four models available: the Kindle, the Kindle Paperwhite, the new Kindle Paperwhite (2015) and the Kindle Voyage. Till date Amazon’s flagship Kindle Voyage was widely considered to be the best ever eBook reader. Voyage is a high-end Kindle with a high-contrast “micro-etched” glass screen and an adaptive light sensor at a hefty price of $AUD 273 ($US199).

According to The Financial Express, the brand new Kindle Paperwhite is a very close contender. The new 6-inch E Ink touchscreen gives a 300-ppi screen to the mid range variant without raising the price. Now it is at par with the Amazon’s elite Kindle Voyage. Now readers cannot spot the dots that make up the letter. The text looks amazing, closer to real paper.

The new Kindle Paperwhite comes with a capacitive touch screen as the earlier mid range variant. But the sharper text makes it much easier for the eyes. One can even consider reading comics and graphic novels on this display. It also comes with Amazon’s font, Bookerly, which makes text look very similar to what it would appear on print. All Kindle e-readers have e-ink displays which are basically greyscale displays which try to reproduce the experience of reading on paper digitally, make it completely readable even in broad daylight. Furthermore it has a built-in adjustable light which helps in both day and night reading. The text looks amazing. A single battery charge works for almost a month. The recently released all new Kindle Paperwhite 3G and Wi-Fi edition comes for $AUD 260 ($US 189), while the Wi-Fi one is $AUD 163 ($US119).
