East and Central London residents are now able to avail Amazon's Prime Now service. It is a high-speed delivery service that Amazon Prime subscribers can use at the cost of £6.99 and a minimum purchase of £20.00. The Prime Now app is available in the Google Playstore and Apple Appstore.

The one-hour delivery service is able to deliver about "thousands" of different items. A free second delivery can be made after a two hour window after the first delivery. The deliveries were reportedly made in less than an hour.

London is the fifth city to receive Amazon Prime Now and it is the second outside of the US. Other cities with access to the app include, Miami, Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore and Dallas. The service was first made available for the citizens of New York last year. For now, Amazon is limited to certain areas in London and it cannot make deliveries in North, West and South London but the company says that it will expand to others postal codes soon.

The Prime Now app also allows the customers to track down the location of their orders in real-time. When it first launched, Prime Now was limited to delivering essentials like soaps and shampoos. Now, the service can be used to deliver gadgets and other goods like albums and alcohol.

Amazon's same day high-speed delivery service not only serves as a convinient way to order for customers, it also allows Amazon to compete against other delivery services like, Argos who also offers a one day delivery service from over 300 different stores.
