Actress Gwyneth Paltrow’s pop-up Goop shop in New York City suffered a major setback when it was reportedly robbed of $173,000 worth of jewelry during the peak hours.

It has been reported that three men broke into a cabinet in Paltrow’s NYC store in the daylight. The shop was flooded with customers at that time and the staff was at their service when the burglars lifted some exxy jewelry and watches.

The police and authorities are now looking for the three robbers who took away he expensive pieces from the actress’ pop-up Goop shop on Saturday afternoon, The Guardian reports. Police revealed that one of the suspects managed to open the cabinet with the help of some kind of object. Despite the fact that the staff spotted the suspects, they somehow managed to escape.

The cabinet had some of the expensive merchandise that the burglars fled away with. Reportedly, a vintage Bulgari bracelet valued at $106,000 was amongst the items stolen from the cabinet. Goop released a statement after the incident.

"There was an isolated incident Saturday afternoon involving a very limited number of items, which was reported to the NYPD. While the store was crowded during one of our busiest days, thankfully the NYPD responded quickly, our customers and staff are safe, and we remain open for business with proper security precautions in place," People quoted a Goop spokesperson.

The pop-up shop, named Goop, was opened by the 43-year old actress in NYC on Nov. 23. Paltrow owns three other chains of her pop-up shop in Dallas, Chicago as well as Los Angeles. The online store and lifestyle website, Goop, was started by Paltrow in 2008. Paltrow even marked her presence at the NYC store during its opening in November end.

For the NYC debut of her pop-up shop, Paltrow collaborated with Valentino and her shop had luxury offerings from the house of Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli. The NYC outlet of Goop also boasted a Wonder Woman-inspired collection from the luxury brands.
