Gwen Stefani debuted her new single "I Used to Love You" at the MasterCard Priceless Surprises concert at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday, Oct. 17. The emotional track is said to express Stefani's feelings after her separation from her husband of thirteen years, Gavin Rossdale.

"I Used to Love You" has been produced by J.R. Rotem, according to People. The song is her first single since she announced her separation from the Bush’s frontman. Since then, the couple has kept mum on the reason about their separation, but Gwen’s new single may provide some hint at what triggered the divorce.

Stefani is notorious for converting heartache into hits. She did that in No Doubt’s cult-classic “Don’t Speak” and several songs from the album “Tragic Kingdom.” Though lacking the alternative rock sound of her earlier works, the new track's melody and sound is in tune with the previous ballads of her solo albums, “Love. Angel. Music. Baby” and “The Sweet Escape.”

Stefani and Rossdale met each other in 1995 and married each other on Sept. 14, 2002 at St. Paul’s Covent Garden in London. Together, they have three children named Kingston, Zuma and Apollo. On Aug. 3, 2015, Stefani filed for divorce from Rossdale citing irreconcilable differences.

Since her divorce, Gwen has been busy in other ventures. She serves a coach on the Season 9 of "The Voice US," and she is currently writing new music.
