While competition continues to heat up on NBC’s “The Voice” as the top 10 dwindled to eight after the elimination round this week, a major all-star reunion is underway for the prestigious singing show. Former judges Gwen Stefani, CeeLo Green and Usher are officially heading back as celebrity mentors to advise the remaining contenders next Monday.

The three former panelists will be returning for a two-hour episode on April 27 to offer their expertise to the remaining eight contestants, alongside coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams and Christina Aguilera, E! News reported. The big homecoming is the first of its kind on the hit NBC show.

The returning judges have come from different seasons of “The Voice,” but has never been on the show at once. Green was one of the first four to sit on the trademark red chairs on the show, alongside Levine, Aguilera and Shelton. He appeared on Seasons one, two, three and five, and had a controversial exit at the time he was facing felony drug charges, People reported.

R&B singer Usher came in during seasons four and six, while Gwen Stefani coached only for season seven. Every past and present “The Voice” coach will be appearing on next Monday’s episode, except for Shakira, who drilled the show’s contestants during seasons four and six.

While it is not clear as of the moment which team the returnees will mentor, sources say that they might take turns coaching one team to another. 45-year-old Stefani also took to Twitter to express her excitement about returning to the show, tweeting, “So excited! Back on #TheVoice next week to work with @Pharrell's &@Xtina’s teams! Can’t wait 2 C everyone! my #VoiceFamily”

This week, the Top 10 gave a string of powerful performances but eventually faced the much-anticipated elimination round, where two of the contenders were sent home. After the votes were tallied, Team Pharrell’s Koryn Hawthorne, Corey Kent White and Sawyer Fredericks all took the first slots in the top 8.

Indie Carney from Team Xtina took the fourth slot, followed by Team Blake’s Meghan Linsey and again Team Xtina’s Kimberly Nichole. Hannah Kirby from Team Blake was then relieved from elimination, leaving Deanna Johnson, Joshua Davis and Rob Taylor to fight for the last spot. After the Twitter-save frenzy, Davis was given the lucky opportunity to advance to the next round.

“The Voice” has reached the point where America starts to vote off singers, such that all seven coaches will have to do what it takes to save their favorite singers next week. The show airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 pm on NBC.
