The nanny allegedly behind the Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale divorce is now tagged as a “wild child” by former neighbours in Gold Coast.

Melinda Mann, 27, was also accused of having a three-years affair with Bush frontman Rossdale, which pushed Stefani to divorce her husband. The split came after Stefani found explicit texts and naked pictures of the nanny on the family iPad, synced on Rossdale’s iPhone.

According to Herald Sun, a former neighbour of Mann, who watched her grow up, said that she was a party girl before she landed a job as nanny with Stefani and Rossdale. “She was always a wild child. I always thought she was a lesbian the way she walked around the street with her shaved head and her girlfriends,” the neighbour said.

The neighbour recalled that Mann’s family would always have big parties and bottles were poured into the recycling bin the next morning. “It sounded like a bar cleaning up after a big night,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mann’s former classmates also told Herald Sun that they didn’t imagine Mann ending up in her present situation. They recalled Mann as a performing artist and sport-loving student back in high school. “She was a happy-go-lucky student who loved studying geography. She was pretty involved in all sorts of things,” a former classmate said.

Mann’s father, Phil Mann, refused to comment on the issue.

Since 2008, Mann babysitted Rossdale’s three sons -- Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 20 months, but would would always fly to Australia for Christmas.

According to Herald Sun, Rossdale and Mann were caught holding hands in 2012 while on a hike with Kingston and Zuma. The 50-year-old singer denied the rumour and said he was only preventing Mann from falling at the time.

A source told E! News that Stefani’s suspicion was confirmed in February after she attended the 2015 Grammy Awards. The No Doubt frontwoman confronted Rossdale when Mann told her the truth. However, Rossdale denied everything and told Stefani that he was just flirting.

Stefani filed for divorce from Rossdale after 13 years of marriage in August owing to “irreconcilable differences.” In a joint statement, the estranged couple revealed that the decision was mutual. They have agreed to share legal custody of their three sons.
